Old Kirk German

I've been told that the original Kirk German in Peel then became St. Peter's now in ruins in the town square. Does anyone know if any records from the Church were Kept and if so where they may be. My great great great grandparents children were supposedly Christened there.

My G G G Grandparents were married in Patrick, William Kelly to Ann Quane in 1816, 24th February. It is not absolutely clear if the children were christened in the Kirk German or born in the Parish of Kirk German, This information I obtained off the IGI and cannot clarify it until my return trip to the Island in July.Would the Parish of Kirk German have originally include the area of Foxdale as that is where the family had an 6 acre holding, as mentioned in the 1851 census?

I know that the new Cathedral's stone was not laid until the 1830's, this is where I got married and so I would be most interested in any information that can be obtained about the old Kirk German.

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Sue
