there was a barracks at Castletown - small detachment which changed - the comments I've seen say that it derived from the regiment stationed at Carlisle though others have mentioned Preston - 1843 corresponds to a Pigot's directory so I will see if it mentions the regiment (though I think they were only stationed there for a year or so)
