Bridson is a name unique to the Isle of Man so it safe to conclude that all lines go back to the Island. Futhermore, Liverpool being the most used port of entry into England from IOM it is only to be expected that emigrants from the Island settled there - as evidenced today by names in the telephone directory.

IGI tells us that an Ann Bridson was christened at Saint Marks,IOM on 1st. April 1810. but unles you are very sure of your dates be wary of jumping to conclusions. Bridson is a common name in IOM and IGI lists 19 Ann Bridsons born between 1805 - 1815! On the other hand, IGI gives only one Ann Bridson born in England in that period viz. at Liverpool on 16 May 1813.
