Does anyone hace the followiing passenger lists for these ship that travelled to Australia
The Vixen Left Peel 26th January 1853. Was said to have 37 manxmen on board 35 of which were all from the west of the Island. It took 92 days to reach Melbourne, Australia for where the passengers all were going to find their fortune in the Gold rush.
The sailing was such a big deal that the day was delcared a public holiday and they were sent off from Peel in fine style.
The Second ship is " The Prince Arthur" which sailed from Liverpool January 24th 1853 to australia for the same reasons. on board were 5 Manxmen. It arrived4 days after the Vixen into Melbourne.
Any help wouls be appreciated
kind regards
