Re: Quay family

Hello Michael,

In answer to your question, most of my immediate family are in the central area of the Island, If you have a map of the Island then it will be easy, I live in Union Mills, just outside Douglas and until recently my father farmed at St Marks, his brother near to the Braaid and his late brother near the Eairy. I have many 1st cousins (getting on for 40) amd they too live nearby, one in Union Mills, another at the Strang and several more near the Braaid. My great grandfather John Quaye lived at various times at Dreemlang, Corvalley, Ballinghan, Oatlands,Strenaby and Ballacashen and I have excellent photographs of him and his family as one or two family mementoes.

Another branch of the family live predominantly in the North of the Island and although I have met some of them occasionally I am not totally familiar with their present family tree.

Have you any idea which part of the Island your ancestors come from, or what their names were? If you have any infor then let me know and I will see what I can find out from my records. If you intend coming to the Island this year then let me know and we can meet and I will hopefully be able to fill you in on the family history.

Regards,

John Quaye.
