Toxteth is another part of Liverpool, and Toxteth Park was a 19th century registration district - maybe it still is.
In the 19th century Liverpool was in Lancashire, often referred to in legal documents as the County of Lancaster, just as you would get the Counties of Northampton and Southampton, and so on.
Do you know Doug Quayle of Wellington, NZ? He is interested in family history and his Quayles come from Michael. If not, and if you like, I can e-mail you his postal address, as it does not seem to be the done thing to give out postal addresses on the Bulletin Board.
