You did not give your great grandfather's name. Was it by any chance George? I have a George Clucas Chr 23 Jan 1851, St Mark's Chapel, IOM, son of Thomas Clucas and Margaret Kelly.

George moved to Liverpool and worked for a carriage maker for a time. He then emigrated to the US, reportedly to work for Mack Trucks. At that point the family lost track of him.

The date 1909 suggests that my George Clucas would have been 58 which is rather older than I thought he was when he emigrated but 1909 might be a very good year to begin working for Mack Trucks, probably designing truck bodies.

Any connections?
