One of the chaps connected with the Leece Museum in Peel, sorry I can't recall his name right now, told me the last Caugherty was from Peel, as the name has died out. Unfortunately, I can't put a year to this. The conversation arose because my married name is Dougherty, and of course Daugherty is a variation. However, I am not tracing Dougherty, and I have no idea if there is a connection between the two names.
