kerroo kerrow etc is Manx for quarterland and forms part of many placenames
if it wasnt for the fact that his offspring was a Keyll I would have suggested that it was possibly a variant on Kerrowkeil (quarterland(or farm) of the chuch or possibly from keyll 'of the wood or grove')) as often a mans name was followed by his farm's name
