Sulby schools and Lezayre

I am trying to locate information on schools that would have been in the
Lezayre parish area, specifically, in and around Sulby. I located my g.grandfather, Robert H. Shimmin, living with an uncle (Richard McKneale)
in 1871 in Sulby. According to the census records, Robert was 14 and listed as a
scholar. I do not know how long he lived in Sulby, nor when he moved there.
I am trying to find out who his mother and father was. His father died when
he was young, his mother remarrried and he apparently left home. Upon his arrival in the US in 1875; he refused to tell anyone about his parents and relatives in the IOM or Liverpool (where he claims he was born) until the day he died. Are there any old school or parish records available from the Sulby area around 1871? Any information would be very helpful.
