Tony,
1. You did not say if the Maria I have identified is "yours", but here is the family I carefully researched! Please check everything carefully - I may not have the correct data.
2. I am still looking for my GGF, John James Boyde, who was one of more than 8 John Boyd(e)s born on the Island between 1858 and 1870. His father was John Boyde, who was recorded as a labourer in 1886. If you find one, do let me know!
3. I hope this is the Maria for whom you are searching and wish you good hunting!
James

Entries in the Parish Register of Ballaugh
Volume 3
Page 147 Entry 16
"Philip Boyde Bachelor and Catherine Corlett Spinster both of this parish were married in this Church by license this the second day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and forty two by me Thomas Howard Rector.
This marriage was solemnised between us Philip Boyde Catherine Boyde (here are their marks) late Corlett in the presence of Danl. (Daniel) Cregeen Thomas Boyde (his x mark) Thos Corlett."
If this is correct, then the following details make a lot of sense:
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 3) Page 62. William Henry, son of Philip Boyde and Catherine Corlett baptized on 12 Jun 1844.
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 3) Page 67. Philip George Washington son of Philip Boyd (sic) and Catherine Corlett baptized on 25 Nov 1846.
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 3) Page 71. Catherine Jane daughter of Philip Boyd (sic) and Catherine Corlett baptized on 11 Feb 1849.
(I quickly checked the deaths during this period but didn't notice anything for this family, which is surprising).

Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 4) Page 23 Entry 180. 14 May 1854. Eleanor Margaret daughter of Philip and Catherine Boyd (sic), Ballaugh, shoemaker. (Baptism)
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 4) Page 31 Entry 242. 24 Sep 1856. Maria Elizabeth, daughter of Philip and Catherine Boyd (sic), a shoemaker of Ballaugh. Privately baptized.
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 4) Page 42 Entry 332. 20 Apr 1859. John James, son of Philip and Catherine Boyde. Parish clerk of Ballaugh. Privately baptized.
Parish Register of Ballaugh (No 4) Page 54 Entry 427. 07 Jun 1862. Emma, daughter of Philip Boyde and Catherine Corlett. Parish clerk of Ballaugh. (Baptism)
I did not check the death indices in this register. (I make that 8 births. The baptism of John James fits in, roughly, with what I already knew).
I then fell over the following entries and was sidetracked. First, I will follow the family above:

There is another John James Boyde, a shepherd, married to Catherine Jane Boyde formerly Brew. A boy, Thomas Daniel was born 29 Jun 1890! In fact, I then noticed that there is more than one John James Boyde…. problem?
