Morrison is a Scottish name, and possibly an Irish name with the roots in Scotland, but it is also a Manx name, which used to be Mylvorrey, and variations of that. It seemed to change , very quickly, as people started to speak English.
My roots seem to be firmly in Ballaugh, and Barry, in this section, seems to have his firmly in Maughold, in both cases going back a long time. I don't know whether they are connected, yet, but I do not think there are English connections.
Talking of English connections, have you come across any |Morrisons in Barrow in the early 1900s in your research, that you have eliminated from your family. Some of mine went to that area. If you have, I would happily furnish you with details in case they are mine!
