JAMES CAIN/E - BALLABEG & LONAN - MINER

I am trying to help someone find out more information about James Cain/e and who his parents were.

James and Sophia Kelly were married at Braddan on 10 May 1835 and by 1841 had moved to Lonan where it appears they spent the rest of their lives there. James' occupation is given as copper and lead miner. In the census records for 1841 it states they were both from Ballabeg and in the 1851 records that all their children were also from Ballabeg. Surprisingly, James isn't listed in the 1851 census but reappears again in later records, however, by 1881 it states he's from Lonan.

I have just been to the Manx Museum and checked through all the baptisms for Arbory Parish from 1800-1825 and can't find James registered. Should I also check Malew's records or was there another village/community called Ballabeg in a different parish?

Also, as James was a miner are there mining records which can be checked? I don't actually know anything about the mining industry then so any information would also be appreciated on this.

Many thanks.
