Re: fargher/faragher
In Response To: fargher/faragher ()

This is something of a long shot. I have a NZ relation whose forbears are Moores from Ronague, Arbory. One ancestor is Edward Robert Moore, baptised in Malew in 1844, son of John Moore and Christian Fargher, who were married in Maughold in 1828.
This relation of mine has a photograph album that contains many photographs taken in 1918/19 when his Moore ancestor was in the Isle of Man as a soldier on leave, visiting relations. Several of the photographs were taken at Ballachurry in Santon, in the saddle between the Santon Burn and Glen Grenaugh. We do not know who was living at Ballachurry then. Were they Fargher relations? Probably not, as Miss Fargher married Mr. Moore in Maughold, but I would be interested if you or anyone else could throw any light on this.
