I do not have much that will help, as I am also searching with very limited information. My great grandfather was Joseph Kneale from IOM he had five? children. Oldest was my grandmother Florence Anne Kneale. She was born in Liverpool in 1899 after Joseph a sailor on IOM Steam Packet had moved there with his wife Margaret Aird, of Scottish extraction, daughter of Grenadier Guard.
Joseph was in volved in lifesaving of some kind and my mother remembers a cutting from the paper headed Joey Kneale Man of Steel. I wonder what on earth he did to deserve that epithet.
Any help from any other Kneales would be gratefully acknowledged. I am a University Emeritus Professor with visiting Chairs in U of Idaho and Pennsylvania. so would be keen to meet any distant relatives in UK or States.
