I'am related to a family named Gawne. Thy lived in the parrish if Bride. My research and study of that branch of the family didn't go back very far. We got back to the late 1700 s although an exact date cannot be confirmed. Can you tell me what parrish you're family was from? As I understand the Gawne name was quite widespread ,some families were well to do and records can go back 3 or 4 hundred years with some luck. If you can give me some more names and dates I will look over my records to see if they match yours. There is a Gawne website in the Manx bulletin boards, don't know how to find it right now but I will have a look and get back to you.
