MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES

A marriage certificate dated 1882 (Parish Church Kirk Braddan), includes the name of the bride's father, although I believe he died 11 years prior to this date in New York City, NY. In normal circumstances, would the name of the father be included even if he was deceased? I am of the opinion that the daughter, who had been estranged from her father since a child, was not aware of his death, and when asked for his name, gave it.

Thank you for any information.
