A little later than your enquiry, but my mother, Annie Bridson, along with her sister, Sophia, moved to the Ripponden/Rishworth/Barkisland area of Yorkshire, England, to work in the Textile industry, probably in the 1880's or 1890's.

My mother married John Jagger, and Aunt Sophia married Benjamin Bottomley, both Yorkshire men.

They lived in the inner harbour area of Douglas.
