Hi, I am planning a visit to the Island with my family. We would like to visit the grave of my great grandparents and great uncles buried in the Maughold cemetery.
The understanding from my late cousin Ernie Cleator of Laxey and the Family History Society, informed me some years ago of the Monumental Inscription Project documenting each monument (grave marker) on the Island A2. Would someone be willing to inform me where I might be able to go online to find the specific location and number of the monuments at the church?
Just for reference my family buried in Maughold are Thomas Cleator (Died 7 April 1924), Esther Cleator (March 1932), their sons -Adam Fletcher Cleator & wife Mary, (1 Oct 1939), John Robert Cleator (between 1911 & 1919)
Is it permissible to clean the grave markers? If so, are there specific cleaners or materials that must be used?
I appreciate any assistance you might be able to render.
