After further investigation, I see that "poledowy", as it appears in 1713 Lib Vast BAL (img 266, film #008077615) appears twice as "poldoiy" or "poldoij" in the 1760 copy of the 1704 (L) Comp Book (img 390 film #008077634), in both cases used in conjunction with an entry for John Caine, so presumably it is a reference to his location.
