I am trying to find information on a birth certificate that does not have the father ( my great-great-great grandfather) named. My GGG Grandmother was "sent" to the Isle of Man from Ireland where she gave birth to a daughter in 1881. This daughter was my great-great grandmother. She subsequently spent her childhood years (10?) in a convent on the Isle of Man. I was told that midwives were often seekers of the father. Any insight would be helpful. I will check with the historical society as well as the parish. With gratitude
