there was an industrial school and home set up in Ramsey (see description on manxnotebook) but there a comment that only girls were accepted during duration of war.
I have seen accounts of troubled and troublesome boys pre WW1 who were threatened with being sent to industrial schools in England - possibly research involving Manx papers www.imuseum.im as they normally reported court proceedings in detail.
