I was interested when some researchers recently asked, and responded about a family named WATTERSON.
In 1833 my G.G.G.Grandmother, Sarah Lynchey, was tried, and sentenced along with a son, Thomas, who had as the Court Documents stated "for that they did steal take and carry away against the peace of our Lord King his Crown and Dignity and against the form of the statute £34.2.0 from the farm house at Kirk Lonan of William Watterson".
The name was shown as “Waterson” in “Mona’s Herald”
I have a photograph of the farmhouse noted as the “LHEKERROO" farmhouse which I understand was demolished in the last twenty or so years.
The farmers wife was Ann Watterson.
Was the Watterson who was sought in the recent posts of the same family?
I found a request from the Home Office for costs of transporting Sarah, the mother, along with two daughters and a son to Woolwich for transportation to Australia in the sum of £31.0.9, almost as much as had been stolen.
