The baptism record of Jane Skillicorn to Thomas and Ann Bell is March 1835, which puts her at the right age to be the girl in the 1841 census. The marriage of Thomas and Ann is late December 1834- so the birth was around three months after the marriage. I guess we know why they got married!

I think the way forward now is to look through the census for the isle of man and try to establish how many skillicorns there were. There is a Thomas born in Lonan 1812 who always comes up in the search results but is definitely not my Thomas. So once I have some idea of the families I can try to work out where my Thomas is from.
