The naming pattern doesn't give much , Jane appears to be ch 25/12/1836 to Matthew/Matthias Cowley and Elizabeth Croaghan, they name fourth child Elizabeth and first son James Matthias, so hard to guess, no Sarah or Nelson, some modern names for the times.
Catherine came from the 1871 census , no birth for Catherine Crebbin , looked for Catherine with any surname and found Catherine Cowley with parents James and Jane , since they were James and Jane were already married , must have been a mistake by the Vicar, remembering James was illiterate.

Still can't find a birth for James
