He was the illigit child of Edward Kelly and Ann Moore ch 23 Apr 1840.

Anne Moore was the daughter of Thomas Morre and Anne Shimmin. Anne Moore eventually married Robert Watts and settled in the USA leaving her son Thomas Kelly behind to live with her parents.
