I am hoping to find out more information re my 5th times great-grandfather John Murray - Circa 1700/constable of Peel Castle. My understanding is that he had an illegitimate child, Alice Murray (1745 - 1802), with Alice Wattleworth. Alice Murray married Thomas Mylchreest, my 4th times great-grandfather.

In a thread on this site in 2007, N.G Crowe stated that there was a possibility that John Murray could have been the illegitimate grandson of the 1st Lord of Atholl. If anybody has any information re this connection it will be gratefully received.
