Thanks for this. It seems strange how there are no Oates or Otes in the early Lib Assed. I had checked on your website & couldn't see any.

I wonder if it's plausible that the family did exist pre 1570 but perhaps they weren't land owners for the longest time which explains their absence from the early records.

What do you think?
