You have helped me previously regarding the names in the title, at least as far back as 2010!!! Some history with you: George Emanuel Kelly, b. 17 Sep 1823, Malew, IoM to John and Margaret Ann Kelly (from Isle of Man Baptisms Index (1600-1981). In 1841, lived with his family in Malew; 1856 married Annie Dunn (Liverpool). 1861 England Census he, his wife Annie Dunn (name also appears as Ani Dunne), son Charles George and daughter, Christian Faith, were living in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire, England. He is listed as a Mariner and Sea Captain on various documents and according to family history, he died in November 1865 when his ship foundered at sea, and you provided Patrick Old Yard GEORGE KELLY third son born 15th September 1823 whose ship foundered at sea November 1865). Son Charles George bpt 1864, St. James, Toxteth park, Liverpool, no death info, but since so close to when his father died, maybe he was “at sea” as well (family notes). In 1871 George’s 3 daughters (including Christian Faith) were living in Peel, IoM with their Uncle John Kelly, Advocate of Peel. No mention of either father (except George’s headstone) or mother or their son Charles George ever again! With no information on death or for his wife or son, I would like to find out if there are any wills, probate documents (or any other sources you may know) for him, either IoM or England. Other than going to the IoM museum directly (I live in the U.S.), can I search for this information on-line, or do you have ways to find this info if it exists? You raised the question that perhaps Annie Dunn had remarried – haven’t found any such info. Would perhaps there be some legal document regarding the possible official guardianship by John Kelly, Advocate of Peel of the 3 sisters (noted above – who lived with him) that would be by him or some other legal authority?
