hi there, we are trying to find out information about my husbands maternal granddad and we can only assume that he changed his birth name to Jack Ellis. Fact he was born 10th October 1884 in Peel and his father owned a fleet of fishing boats? he ran away from home when he was 12 years old to the UK and then married over here in UK and served in Boer War etc under his assumed name. can you point me in the right direction of where to try and start to find out who he really was pls?
