The first is a digital image from the Braddan parish register for the baptism of George Ambrose Clague, Jan 1878 and it gives a maiden name of Cowley for the mother (most of the baptisms for the children of Thomas Clague and Eleanor Cowley only give “Thomas Clague and Eleanor”. So you can be sure that Eleanor M Clague’s mother was Eleanor Cowley, since George Ambrose was one of her many siblings.

There are some trees on Ancestry which say that Eleanor M’s mother was Eleanor Corkill. But Thomas Clague/Eleanor Corkill were a different couple who married in 1849.

She claimed to be age 30 in 1891, and when she died in 1899, her age was given as 38, so she may have given Josiah James the impression that she was a bit younger than her actual age.
