if you look at chap 8 of 'The birth of a service' it was taken over by the new Manx NHS in 1948 from Ramsey and over next few years somewhat modernised with addition of an X-ray dept + a nurses home

I you look at MNB under children's homes you will find a brief discussion re the Ramsey home - Cronk Ruagh was never as far as I know a children only institution
