try www.imuseum.im - parents would appear to be Wm Lace (d/o John Lace + Eleanor Cormoad) + Ann Kneale (m Andreas 18540824) both parents born Andreas + 1st 3 children Ann_Jane, William_Kneale, and Eleanor_Esther born Andreas so looked as tho moved to Lezayre c.1860 - in 1881 census they have a son Robert (age 10) and Wm is a sohemaker

licenced to preach means he was a lay preacher (possibly only on the 'Plan Beg' (see under Methodism on www.manxnotebook.com) - the Manx Museum has almost complete set of Plans post 1860's so you should be able to see where and when he started preaching
