More of Joseph Thomas, husband of M.A.Kelly. In 1853 Joseph and Margaret went to France to see French Army camp at St. Omer then on to view Napoleon III fete.
Joseph (and presumably Margaret) travel to New South Wales where he is to manage a coal mine in the Newcastle (Aus) area. He then goes to Victoria, probably for gold mining. He may have died in Melbourne between 1870 and 1885. In 1873 Victorian Police enquired of his whereabouts - property legacy involved. This may have been in connection with Kelly Family. I am writing his biography as 'Tracking Captain Thomas: the unacknowledged founder of Canterbury' [NZ]. Any help will be much appreciated.
