Perhaps I'm the only one bothered by the long strings we develop and the tendency to leave the subject titles of the message unchanged. Our recent journey into the Looneys has led us through a long, sometimes confused/confusing bunch of all the Johns and Williams and who belongs to who. We frequently don't change the subject title to fit what we're writing about today. I believe it would be helpful to keep this in mind. At least it would be helpful to me.
A similar confusion for me is the tendency to write rather short replies to a post. The post is about some particular people who are not in the subject line and then may not be specifically identified in the short post
For example Averil, Frances and Eric posted messages about Christian Looney's land transaction. I was a bit confused in the first messages from Averil and Frnces but decided just to remain so until later. With Eric's post indicating all this fit together I decided to try to understand it.
It took me quite some time to realize that we had two William Looneys born in 1711. I hadn't realized that--probably missed it in one of the other posts.
Just a quick Wm Looney 1711 s/o Wm Looney/Jony Q would identify the Wm Looney 1711 of the message. Thankfully, there aren't any more relevant Christian Looneys!
The information and the stellar detective work that is done on this Board is totally amazing and awe inspiring. A few tweaks here and there might make it even more so.
