That's a very good point, and I expect many people would be willing to buy a copy of a parish that featured large in their researches or if they had lots of queries in one or two parishes (are they on CD yet, I wonder?) but it seems hard if you just want to check maybe for the presence of one specific person in an unusual place or test a hunch, rather than a sweep for every instance of a surname. For one name I would probably check a library copy rather than buy every parish - if I was on the Island. Is it any different to ask to access a copy via the internet, in the same circumstance, if someone isn't on the Island?
