Hi Frances,
I'm looking for:
KAIGHIN, Thomas, 1697-2 , Ger, E, d, 0991715
I believe this is the Thomas Kaighin who inherited half of Ballakaighin from his father Robert between 1641 and 1663. He last shows up in the Manorial Rolls in 1702, however since there is no other Thomas Kaighins in the wills/burial indexes within a reasonable time after this, I suspect the Thomas with the will in question is the one I'm looking for. In 1709, his part of the quarterland was in the possession of John Killey who was the Grandson-in-Law of Gilbert Kaighin (d. 1677/8) who owned part of Corvalley. Killey (actually Killip) was married to Catherine Kaighin, who herself was the daughter of John Kaighin and Madge Kelly of Ballaquine.
So I'm trying to determine if this is the correct Thomas Kaighin who owned part of Ballakaighin, and if so, what relationship, if any, he had with John Killey. Also would like to determine if he had a wife or children.
There is also a Jonny [Joney] Kaighin, same film, 1697-2 who I have been unable to identify. This could be a joint will with Thomas.
Thank you,
Greg
