It's been a long time since I've been here, but I have a new mystery in the family I'd like some help with if possible.
I have a Samuel Taggart (my G Grandfather) who married Elizabeth Anne PERRY on 28th October 1885. They went on to have 8 children, one of which was my Grandmother, Elsie Mona.
However, in Lawson's BMD I found a Lizzie Jane Perry, Mother's name Elizabeth Anne Perry - No Father, Born 6th December 1883 Rushen - i.e. 2 years before Elizabeth married Samuel Taggart.
I can find no further record for Lizzie Jane, and as she doesn't show up in any census, I wondered if she died. I can't find any death record either though, so is it possible she was adopted? One of Samuel & Elizabeth's later children was also named Elizabeth, but way too late to be the Lizzie Jane I'm looking for.
I'm very rusty at this, so any pointers/suggestions very gratefully received!
