Have you asked what is the current fee to search in person at present? I have done it

many times in the recent past you sign a form noting which copy register you need to see,

pay £3,50 [the last time I visited ] & if you are lucky & no one else is needing it ,can

sit down & read from front to back. I've been lucky --family in one village for ages.Sometimes
