Many thanks for all that information.
In the last couple of years I transferred to a laptop which has twice 'gone down', plus another error on my part, which lost me a lot of info - my fault not backing up!!!
I now have my Family Tree Maker programme reinstalled.

I am not on the island so am unable to access Bradden Parish register to find out the name of Edwards father!
