Thanks Frances...your CD is priceless to me!! It was from the K.M. Baptisms on there that I found illeg. birth of Cath. Cannell September 1749, and her father named as Pat Hiennes. It is not on imuseum or Ancestry.
Wonder if it's on Find My Past??
I usually work from film at Museum. But I would love to know if other members can recommend Find My Past Parish Regs. Are they accurate?
Of course now I've found the mysterious Pat Hinds (buried Braddan 1791 (Hynes) It proves 3 things. The first being that he did exist, I was beginning to think he was a myth! And the second, that there is a Kelly connection to him. That his illeg. daughter married a Kelly, establishing my mum's Kelly line.
Also that Robert Kelly, who died 1860, was not born in Patrick (where I've based several years of research), as he stated in 1851 Census...but was christened in Braddan.
I'd previously thought he was son of William Kelly and Eleanor ...bees in Dalby Will.
So I feel as if I'm definitely on the right track this time, and will write it all up tonight. It's only taken 40 years, and would not have been possible without the MNB CD. So my heartfelt thanks to you.
