Re: Kingsley Villa, Athol Park

Hi Sue

It seems that isabella was a spinster when she died, the year after Honora Kennedy. Isabella was the illegitimate daughter of Ann Beatson. She used the surname of her stepfather, Mayor.

***********
1911 census has Isabella listed as Isabella Beatson, 22 yr old step daughter with widowed Josiah Mayor, a police constable, plus several step siblings in Toxteth Park, Liverpool.
The only other Mayor listed in the IOM burial index from this family was Josiah, aged 63 in 1936.

Ann Beatson was a farmer’s daughter b 1872 at Clayton le Woods, Lancashire. I can’t see any link back to the IOM in the previous generation.

Difficult to know why Josiah and stepdaughter Isabella moved over to the IOM between 1911 and 1936. Isabella was a dressmaker.
