In my quest to find John Corkill, mariner, father of illeg. Tom Corkill I find TWO John Corkills going to Kinsale, March 1871 Census. Both unmarried. One of them marries Margaret Cooil in June 1871!!
The other remains unmarried.
John, aged 30, who sails on the KATE, gives his residence as Marown.
The other John, aged 28, on boat Blue Ribbon, states residence as Peel.
Young Tom Corkill lived at Ballanicolas, Marown with his Gelling family. John Corkill, aged 19 , in 61 Census, had been a Farm Servant, on another Gelling farm in Marown, so would 'know' Tom's mum Elizabeth Lace. Help please? How do I move forward from this?
