Help needed please. In my search for John Corkill I believe I have at last 'found ' him in the 1851 Census, Maughold. Living in a very dodgy lodging house, with his mother , she is a servant.(I have found his christening in Malew. Father listed as Corkill),. She is Elizabeth Shimmin...but I can't 'read' the parish that she was born in. Is it Patrick or Rushen?
On his marriage cert,. John Corkill lists his father as John Corkill. John is at sea on the Kate in 1871, and the Susan in 1881. Things coming together at last!!!
