I have Rosanna Kennedy b1816 in Ireland (unfortunately, I created this particular tree some time ago and can't remember where I got the info but will retrace my steps if you'd like me to). She married Thomas in Patrick in 1839 which makes the link to Frances's suggestion. Visiting relatives, maybe? Thomas was some way from his Lonan home to be in Patrick, and their first child was born in Douglas (1840), so perhaps he'd been working in the mines around Patrick, married Rosanna & made his way home fairly soon after that? D
