James is s/o Wm + cath - Wm d 1843 but decree was 1848 - petn by E M Gawne (widow of Edwd Gawn) that Wm Cannell(Jakes?) late of Rushen considerably indebted and no admin - widow Cath Cannell + dau Ann(w/o Edward Watterson) - court notes died some time ago intestate leaving only Anne(w/o Edward Watterson) only child - Edwd appt admr - inv £64 7s of wch £60 is the dwelling house in Port Iron [Port Erin]
the James of Braddan was bur 13 Sep 1825 (post birth of illeg child) age 39 (there are a couple of possible matches) wch seems somewhat old for the 26 yr old Margt at time of birth - I suspect if he was the father it would have been noted that he was dead - cannot you borrow the film ?
