I think Frances got the wrong Thomas here. Thomas Scarffe age 45 was buried 22 Nov 1852 Lonan. He was of Ballagraue in 1841 & 1851 and his wife was Eleanor Quine, who was buried 2 Jul 1838. That particular Thomas I have as bapt 19 Jan 1806 Lonan s/o William Scarffe & Eleanor Gelling.

I have the Thomas buried 3 Nov 1856 age 23 to be the son of Thomas Scarffe & Jane Gelling of Barroose Lonan.

The Thomas s/o Wm Scarffe & Ann Mylrea was baptized less than 2 months before the above Thomas and the parents were of Lonan, but they were in Douglas for all the children's births and census's. I've also lost him after the 1841 census (he's with his parents age 8 at Water Lane Douglas), but there is a Thomas Scarff age 21 Ag Lab b Douglas at Bibaloe Moar Douglas in 1851 with a Graham family who doesn't seem to fit anybody. I suspect this is him, with an age slightly high.
