I have seen a Christian family tree which ultimately goes back from the Isle of Man to a Ewan Mccrysten of Kirkudbright in Scotland b 1252. It would be very interesting if this tree were correct but I am slightly surprised not to have heard of this connection before. Especially in light of the absence of parish records before 1600 and the paucity of early comprehensible land records. Does anyone else know of this Christian lineage back to Scotland this early.
