Hi Diana
I don’t have any prior knowledge of your family. Having read your initial query, I spent just half an hour looking up records on a mixture of free sites (www.familysearch.org and www.iomfhs.im/lawsons/LawsonBMD/Main_Site_index.html) and a subscription site (www.ancestry.co.uk), then copying and pasting the records into a message. The trick is to learn which sites to use, and then the most efficient way of using them. Once you’ve mastered the technique, you’ll be able to explore records for eg Matthias Taggart and James Jelly.
My advice would be that you initially practise using familysearch to locate the records I’ve already found for you. It’s possible that you’ll initially find it frustrating, and so if that happens, just ask for help, and I’ll give step-by-step advice.
Do you already have a subscription to a site where you can look at census images eg Find My Past or Ancestry ? Tracing your ancestors is much, much more satisfying when you can locate them in their households at ten-yearly intervals.
Happy hunting.
