I realise that I didn't actually answer your question. It's entirely polssioble that 'Corrin' was written as 'Cowin' by a trancriber, if not the original lazy writer. 'Walkington' was sometimes written as 'Walketon'. When people were illiterate, they wouldn't necessarily know how to spell their own names, so it was down to the cleric to spell them.
